How does music selection work? How do we share music with you and how many of our songs will be played? Do we have to give you every song that gets played at the event?
We treat music selection as a collaborative effort. As the client, you get all of the input you could want. You can share playlists from streaming platforms with us so that we know all of your favorite songs, artists and genres. During any dancing, mingling, dinners, etc., we will use your playlists as musical direction. Our DJ’s will use the songs you shared and then mix in other songs that match the vibe and keep the energy flowing in the right direction. We will also consult your “DO NOT PLAY” List so that any songs used by our DJ’s are not songs, artists or genres that you have communicated to us that you dislike. This collaboration allows you to hear all your favorites songs while giving your DJ the freedom to read the crowd, while using their expertise and experience to keep the crowd’s energy right where you’d want it.
What styles of music do you play?
We curate music intentionally based on your event, your guests, and the flow of the day. Our DJs are experienced across a wide range of styles—including Top 40, hip-hop, R&B, island music, throwbacks, EDM, and more—and we work closely with you to understand what you do and don’t want played. Every playlist is customized so the music feels personal, polished, and right for the moment.
How do you make sure the music flows throughout the event?
Music flow is about timing, transitions, and reading the room—not just song selection. We plan each phase of your event in advance and adapt in real time, coordinating closely with planners and vendors to ensure seamless transitions. The result is an event that feels natural, well-paced, and engaging from start to finish.
